What is PDF to Text?
This tool reads the embedded text content of a PDF — useful for archiving, searching, or piping document content into other tools. It works on text-based PDFs (the kind generated by Word, LaTeX, browser printing, etc.). Scanned PDFs or image-only PDFs would need OCR, which this tool does not perform.
FAQ
- Does it work on scanned PDFs?
- No — only PDFs with embedded text. Scanned/image PDFs require OCR.
- Is my file uploaded?
- No. pdf.js parses the PDF locally — the file never leaves your device.
